Two Types: Pre-Wired Connecting Cables & Open-End Assemblies
Pre-wired M12 connecting cables have a moulded M12 connector at both ends — one male, one female — and are ready to use immediately. No termination is required. We stock three configurations: female straight to male straight (43-10564 series), female angled to male straight (43-10708 series), and female straight to male angled (43-14605 series). Available in 2 and 5 metre lengths. Use these when connecting a sensor to a panel-mount socket, a T-splitter, or another M12-terminated device where both ends already have M12 interfaces.
M12 Open-End Cable Assemblies — One Connector, Unterminated Far End
Open-end M12 cable assemblies have a moulded M12 connector at one end with free, stripped wires at the other. These are used when you need to terminate the far end yourself — for example, into a terminal block, junction box, or PLC input module without an M12 socket. We stock four variants: female angled open-end (CONEC 43-10188 / 43-10190), female straight open-end (43-10020 / 43-10022), male angled open-end (43-14436 / 43-14438), and male straight open-end (43-10104 / 43-10106). Available in 2, 5, and 10 metre lengths.
Cable Specification — What You Need to Know Before Ordering
All M12 cables and open-end assemblies in our range share the following key specifications:
Coding: A-coded — the standard coding for sensor, actuator, and I/O wiring in industrial automation. Compatible with all A-coded M12 sockets on proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, and I/O modules.
Pin count: 4-pin (all variants). The most common configuration for 3-wire NPN/PNP sensors — carrying supply positive (+24V DC), supply negative (0V), signal output, and where applicable a fourth wire for shield or second output.
Cable jacket: PUR (polyurethane) — preferred over PVC for industrial environments. PUR offers better resistance to oils, lubricants, and cutting fluids, higher flexibility over repeated bending cycles, and a longer service life in machine-mounted and moving-cable applications. Where only general-purpose static installation is required, PVC is a lower-cost alternative (contact us to discuss options).
IP rating: IP67 — sealed against dust ingress and resistant to temporary water immersion to 1 metre for 30 minutes. Rating applies when the connector is fully mated.
Operating temperature: -25°C to +80°C (standard PUR variants).
Conductor CSA: 0.34 mm² per core — the standard for 4-core M12 sensor cables, rated to 4A per contact.
Available lengths: 2m and 5m for the pre-wired connecting cables; 2m, 5m, and 10m for the open-end assemblies (varies by part number — check individual product listings for length options).
M12 Cable, Female Straight – Male Straight (43-10564 / 43-10566)
Double-ended pre-wired cable with female M12 straight connector at one end and male M12 straight connector at the other. A-coded, 4-pin, PUR-jacketed, IP67. The most common M12 cable configuration for standard sensor-to-socket connections where both ends are in a fixed, straight-access position. Available in 2m and 5m lengths.
M12 Cable, Female Angled – Male Straight (43-10708 / 43-10710)
Double-ended pre-wired cable with female M12 right-angle connector at one end and male M12 straight connector at the other. A-coded, 4-pin, PUR-jacketed, IP67. The angled female end reduces cable strain and bending radius at the sensor connection point — the right choice when the sensor socket faces downward or when clearance around the connector is limited.
M12 Cable, Female Straight – Male Angled (43-14605 / 43-14607)
Double-ended pre-wired cable with female M12 straight connector at one end and male M12 right-angle connector at the other. A-coded, 4-pin, PUR-jacketed, IP67. Use when the male panel socket or T-box faces a direction that makes a straight cable exit impractical — the angled male end reduces mechanical stress at the panel connection.
M12 Female Angled Open-End Assembly (CONEC 43-10188 / 43-10190)
Female M12 right-angle connector with unterminated open wires at the far end. A-coded, 4-pin, PUR-jacketed, IP67. Use for connecting a sensor with a downward-facing M12 socket to a PLC, terminal block, or custom termination. Two part numbers cover different cable lengths — confirm the correct variant against your cable run requirement.
M12 Female Straight Open-End Assembly (CONEC 43-10020 / 43-10022)
Female M12 straight connector with unterminated open wires at the far end. A-coded, 4-pin, PUR-jacketed, IP67. The standard open-end assembly for wiring a sensor into a terminal block or screw-cage input module. Straight exit makes this appropriate where there is adequate clearance around the sensor connector.
M12 Male Angled Open-End Assembly (CONEC 43-14436 / 43-14438)
Male M12 right-angle connector with unterminated open wires at the far end. A-coded, 4-pin, PUR-jacketed, IP67. Use for connecting from a panel-mount female M12 socket to a terminal block or custom wiring harness, where the angled exit reduces cable bending stress at the panel.
M12 Male Straight Open-End Assembly (CONEC 43-10104 / 43-10106)
Male M12 straight connector with unterminated open wires at the far end. A-coded, 4-pin, PUR-jacketed, IP67. The male counterpart to the female straight open-end. Used when cabling from a female panel-mount socket to an unterminated termination point, or for custom harness construction where the male M12 interface is required at one end.
